Freedom of Speech applys to schools

My school has been the attench the last few weeks of the media in our area why? Becasue the school board has voted to end the school’s news paper and also is in favor of editing it. Meh There has been cases like this in my state in the past the students took it to the surpream cort and ruled in the students favor for keeping the school form editing the paper. Its called the freedom of speech. With out it all we have is propaganda. Also the school was reported to of cut out the article in a local paper in that school and trash it, Wow good job on upholding what America is built on. Hmmmm Censorship from power hungry officals who are too afraid to let mistakes leak to the people. at lease the US lets the word to see its mistakes unlike manyothers or my school district for that matter.

As you may or may not know I like Phantom of the Opera, The music is just great…full of feelings amoung other things. It’s really hard to explain what the music feels like if you get down to just paying attenching to the music letting it “speak” so to say. Any who I was board yesterday went to google video and looked up Phantom of the Opera and came across this 12 Min video of a Marching band from 1989 3 years after Andrew Llody Webber’s Phantom(AWL in this post) of the Opera opened in the UK and 1 year after it opened in the US. The Marching band was able to capture of the “voice” of ALW’s Phantom of the Opera music which is hard to do when your in High School (About Years 9-12 for People who do not know the US schooling system) The ending is great. I can not think of how hard and how decated they were to pull off all of that.

Yesterday I got my laptop. Acer Aspire 3000 AMD Sempron 3000+ 14.5 in screen 60 Gig HD 512 MB RAM 802.1 b/g wireless LAN card (also we got a wireless router,) Nice and fast . well thats all I really can say about it right now .

S13 rant

This time of year is where everyone is nice to one another. Good will toward man and all that. Not on Invisionfree Support this past week. On Saturday. s13 went down. Hundreds of members poured in, without any regard for the notices posted and made a bunch of topics that we had to clean up. A topic was made for them to chat. It turned into spam and flaming. Well Joy to the World after being fixed saturday, it went down again on Wednesday. And from when I got home til when I went to bed, I spent all my time online completely dedicated to general support. I moderated the chat topic and split out the spam 7 times. I warned 4 users and I wanted to jump out a window. Now I know that when a server is down there is mass panic. But the utter amount of disrespect was such a slap in the face to every one of us who spent 6+ hours in that forum answering as many questions as possible and providing a place to actually discuss the problem. I was sickened by the knowitalls that were telling us off. And hurt. Poor Sam had a headache and kept moderating the topic. Aaron, Jay, Francis, Phrank, Matthew, Tachyon, Christina, Seth and more spent unbelievable amounts of time in that topic trying to answer all topics. It was pure spam by the end. I did not go to bed happy. I actually had a bit of trouble sleeping I was so disgusted. Imagine my anger then when logging in the next day I see the same garbage. And again we try to give answers and again we get told off. I’d like to remind them its a free service with better customer service than most paid services. There was at least 2 moderators in that topic at all times. 4 in the support forum itself and 8 on most times. The staff was out and on in record numbers doing our job voluntarily for no pay and no reward. Well unless being told off several times counts as a reward. And now its friday and s13 is down and its gotten so bad a type of martial law has been put in place and no s13 topics are allowed. This is what we have to do for trying to be open and honest with everyone. I’ll remember this for next time. No topics at all. Its clear after this how ungrateful everyone is for a free service. Yes there were the few good ones so not everyone is bad. But so many just ignored all the topics explaining the situation. And what made me more angry was in the first topic is specifically said no members without s13 boards allowed. Because I knew these people would give incorrect support or say wow glad i’m on server x sorry guys. Which is not only spam, but completely unhelpful. Why do I bother is what I wonder. Why do any of us bother. We should just smother freedom of speech when these problems occur.

That’s is what is from Stephen’s blog I spent 3 days 12+ straight hours in ONE(1) topic to do as much as I could help out I had to put up with IDIOTS who FLAMED the Staff and other users granted I did not need to deal with crap as bad as other staff members (Seth and Brandon) who were Threaten eather legally and or there lifes. The staff at invisonfree is unpaid and we put with with this crap why you ask? Because we love what we do and or we love invisionfree. All we ask is follow the rules If you don’t we take actions then we get flamed for doing out jobs. Show some understanding people. We were as sick with S13 as you were believe me.

Christmas

Mine was OK. We had food and all that jazz. really nothing to say it was boring really.

So yeah I made IF staff, so far its been good olny one Support IMer that I was able to stop with out blocking and for the most part just need to use Multi Mods, since Seth promoted me at 1AM EST I was up to four becasue I could not sleep giving me five hours of sleep -_- Its still kinda of weird seeing my name bolded and purple, people are not complaing about Sam at all from what I seen wich is good but she is still kinda of a “noob” from the eyes of members who been there for years I think since she has olny been there for a few months but it shall be fun. heh

Thanksgiving

I am thank full for Brandon for making invisionfree he has made a great comunity around it, Seth for the laughs he give the IRCers , Sam, Kez, Holy, Tanya, Loona, for being there for me and the times we had toghter in IRC, Potter, Kevin and the rest of the reqular IRCers for the time and laughts we had
